It has been a busy few months at Chertsey Clean Up with several different projects on the go. With thanks to Blue Mushroom Ltd in Chertsey, they designed and printed some wonderful posters for the children of Chertsey and Addlestone to colour.
Once coloured they were laminated and put around Chertsey to encourage people to, not litter and to take their rubbish home.
We were thrilled that Thorpe Park has now provided bins around the lakes by Chertsey waterworks, these are emptied twice weekly and I am happy to say the area is a lot cleaner and people are using the bins provided.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Thorpe Park for their donation of 30 litter pickers and 30 childrens high vis vests, these will come in extremely handy for people to borrow or use at our community litter picks.
Our community litter pick around Chertsey was a great success, with the person who brought back the most amount of litter winning a £25 voucher. We had lots of new faces that are looking forward to joining us in future events.
