Due to the popularity of our sister group Chertsey Clean Up we decided that Addlestone deserved it’s own group to promote litter picking in their own area. From day one it was an instant success, with people signing up and wanting to get involved.
With the help from Jess Bailey, Addlestone Clean Up was created and bags started appearing all around Addlestone ready for pick up from the Runnymede team.
Just like Chertsey, Addlestone residents were fed up with the amount of litter that was accumulating and wanted to make a stand. It’s been amazing to see families out litter picking and making a difference to their community.
It has been amazing to see so many people get involved and really make a difference around our town. If you are interested in joining our team, we can provide a starter pack to get you going and have plenty of litter pickers available to loan / borrow.
Did you know that you can report fly tipping on a app? Clear Waste as been set up by people who are tired of their area and our countryside being littered by those who don’t care. This app will forward the information straight to the council responsible along with getting perpetrators fined, or in some cases jailed. As a community, we need to take action and this is a way of doing it. Please check your app provided to download.
