Monks Walk Litter Pick
On Sunday 25th April, forty plus volunteers gathered at different parts of Monks Walk to collect litter and fly tipped rubbish. In the space of two short hours over 40 bags were collected along with fly tipped rubbish in bushes and bridges along the walk.
We would like to thank the Merlin Group for providing refuse sacks and removing the collected rubbish and heavier items within 24 hours of the event. We would also like to thank the residents of Thorpe who also volunteered their time to come out with us.
From this event the Merlin Group has also provided bins around Abbey Lakes and Chertsey Waterworks and are regularly checking and collecting litter in these areas.
