The last 6 months have been difficult to say the least. In these unprecedented times it has taken a gargantuan effort from you, the residents of Chertsey, to make sure anyone who was shielding, vulnerable or lonely was supported.
Surrey County Council, Runnymede Borough Council, Voluntary Support North Surrey and our very own Food bank (based above Revive) coordinated their efforts to make sure no one was left in need. There have been numerous food parcels delivered and thousands of phone calls made to comfort the lonely.
Locally, David Moore from 1st Chertsey scouts helped to coordinate the volunteer effort making sure food, medical supplies and other essentials were delivered to anyone who couldn’t get out. They even walked dogs!
Thank you to everyone who was involved and is still involved with helping Chertsey residents. COVID is still with us and the message remains: HANDS (wash hands regularly) FACE (wear a face mask where required) SPACE (keep social distance wherever possible).
Over the coming months I will endeavour to keep you up to date on changes that may be of interest to you and our community. I also will be starting up my monthly surgery again should you wish to discuss anything in person.
