CHERTSEY IN PICTURE POSTCARDS

I recently met Ralph Rendall at the Black Cherry Fair and came across his book on Chertsey.  The book contains over 200 picture postcards of Chertsey and its surrounding areas.  The majority of these cards have never been published and form part of a private collection consisting of over eight hundred cards that have taken 25 years to accumulate.  Most of the cards shown are pre-dated the 1920s with the oldest dated 1901 and the youngest dated 1959. The book also includes information about Chertsey photographers and publishers when they were in business and their differing styles of postcard.  Behind these fascinating images, which tell their own story of a changing town and lifestyle, lice the messages of love, thanks, holiday greetings, appointments and sympathies to name a few.

The book is a great reflection of the past and a perfect for any coffee table.  To get in touch with Ralph to find out more or purchase the book, please call him on 01903 369 082.
