With COVID still a big part of all our lives, the Chertsey community has proved to be so important to our town. Friendship and support have been a life line to so many and continue to make this such a special place to live.
As a Surrey County Councillor I have a small amount of money, my ‘Members Community Allocation’, which I would like to spend on projects and schemes in Chertsey. Anything that will enhance and improve lives, possibly encourage activity of young or old, or just generally improve our town. If you know of any groups/charities or have an idea that you think might work, especially with Christmason the horizon, please let me know via email mark.nuti@surreycc.gov.uk. I have until January to allocate funds.
Roadworks are always a source of frustration – delaying journeys to and from work etc…, but at least if you knew where and when they were expected you could plan to avoid them – well now you can! Go to the Surrey County Council website link https://www.surreycc.gov.uk/roads-and-transport/roadworks-and-maintenance/roadworks and you can see a map of the local area and expected roadworks. At the bottom of the page it explains how you can register to get regular emails updating you on roadworks in towns and places of your choosing. This feature could save you hours and make you very popular with friends and neighbours!
Let’s hope by next month things will be starting to improve on the run up to the festive season but in the meantime : Wash Hands – Wear a face mask inside public areas – Keep your distance from other people. Stay safe.
