CONSTANT TIDES BY PETER CRAWLEY
Peter Crawley has lived in Chertsey for 21 years. He is the author of 5 novels, a collection of short stories and various magazine articles.
Reviewed as ‘the book that got me through lockdown’, ‘captivating’ and ‘beautifully written’ .

Peter’s latest novel, Constant Tides, follows the lives of 2 families bound by the Strait of Messina, Sicily, over 100 years. It is a story of survival, sacrifice and immense courage. Two years of researching, interviewing local people, journalists and historians, and time spent working with local fishermen, has produced a novel that is ‘ambitious’, ‘a brilliant read’ and on occasion ‘a masterpiece of serio-comic writing’.
Previous novels include The Wind Between Two Worlds (London) a novel about a former serviceman sleeping rough on the streets; Boarding House Reach (Norfolk), a multi-voiced character driven novel; and Mazzeri (Corsica) and Ontreto (Lipari, off Sicily) both contemporary and yet historical, locational thrillers.
Peter’s paperback novels are available to order, signed and dedicated, at preferential prices through the contacts page on his website
(www.peter-crawley.com) and all come with a free copy of The Truth In Fiction, his collection of short stories. Paperbacks, eBooks and the audible version of Constant Tides are also available on Amazon.co.uk
HIDDEN TALENTS BY ANJA BARKER
A feel-good book for young girls aged 7-10
Izzy Lane is 10 years old. She has always felt somewhat of an outsider in her school. She is not popular with the other girls and often gets called names and laughed at. When a new girl called Leila joins her class, Izzy finally finds someone who understands her and who wants to be her friend.
Leila is quiet and struggles to speak up. She soon gets bullied, too.Together though, they discover what it is like to have a real friend. Side by side they not only teach each other to believe in themselves but also to not let any bullies get in the way of embracing their uniqueness. When the school announces a big talent contest, Izzy feels that this could be their chance to prove the bullies wrong.
