KEEPING OUR COMMUNITY SAFE

Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

As cases of Covid-19 continue to rise, particularly across the South East, Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals have implemented a number of measures that will enable us to prioritise how we provide care, enabling us to focus on those patients who are critically ill.

In order to do this, the Trust has postponed some routine and non-urgent procedures and operations, as this will allow us to continue to prioritise those in need of urgent and cancer care.

We have also moved additional outpatient services to virtual appointments to reduce the need for patients to come to our site, helping to reduce the risk of Covid transmission amongst staff and patients.

We are working together as a system with local healthcare partners to enable additional bed capacity, deploy staff to areas that are most in need of support, and to ensure timely and safe discharge of patients.

If you do feel unwell over the coming weeks, and require urgent (but not emergency) care from a healthcare professional, please use the NHS 111 online service or phone 111. The NHS 111 service will be able to direct you to the right service, for the right treatment, from the most appropriate healthcare professional – whether this be your local pharmacy or GP.

We would like to thank the public for their ongoing support and remind you to adhere to the national guidance and continue to follow social distancing measures as this will help to reduce the spread of Covid-19; and will help protect each other, and our loved ones.
