Community Life

RUNNYMEDE LIFE – NORTH EDITION | SEPTEMBER 2021

We are having a bit of a celebration at Community Life Magazines.  We are 1 year old in September and what a year its been.  Starting with Chertsey Life and growing into a Runnymede Borough magazine in a year. You might think launching a business during a pandemic would be the wrong time but as a community magazine with everyone home looking for outside communication, it very much turned out to be the ‘right’ choice.  I do love working on every issue and finally getting to meet residents and people who lead our community.  It certainly is a real honour, a lot of hard work and pleased it is appreciated.

Over the next 2 editions, we will have A Focus on Education section with topical articles about education and an opportunity for schools who are looking to let you know of their open days and more about them for you to consider for your children.  Please do take the time to read through these options to see if they would meet your needs along with providing good choices for the future.

It is great to see our events page expanding with lots of options for you to attend including film nights, amateur dramatics, and music events.  Please do let me know if you’re planning anything and would like to let readers know.

Next month will be the celebration of 100 years of the War Memorial in Chertsey.  There were literally thousands and thousands of people who turned out for the event in 1921 for the unveiling.

The Chertsey Museum is looking to put a similar event together marking 100 years.  More information on that will be available in the October issue or check the Chertsey Museum website at chertseymuseum.org.

Yours faithfully,
