Community Life

WELCOME TO REVIVE : HOME AWAY FROM HOME IN CHERTSEY

Revive Coffee Shop first opened its doors in 2016, with the goal of being ‘your home from home’. We wanted to create an environment where everyone can feel welcome, valued and appreciated, no matter their walk of life.

Creating a community space is still at the heart of what we do. Ask any of our staff members and they will say that the part of the job they love the most is the interaction with people. Whether it’s having a chat with one of our regulars or meeting someone new, everyone knows that we are not just a bunch of baristas behind a counter. We really care about the people who walk through our doors and are willing to listen and offer encouragement to anyone who needs it.

We are very fortunate to have a large space available meaning our customers, particularly young families, have space to relax and let the children play. Before lockdown, the rooms above Revive hosted Little Lights, a toddler group run by Beacon Church. Connections made here allowed us to facilitate a group run by a local midwife that offers support to first time mothers. Mums can have face to face, hands on guidance as well as supporting each other and forming new friendships.

Our space is also utilised by a Knit and Natter group that had to split into two sessions to keep up with the demand! After lockdown, they were raring to go and with new distancing restrictions in place, they are back with us, filling our coffee shop with nattering and the occasional bit of knitting and crochet! One of the really special things about this group of women is how they have forged new friendships through meeting together.

Revive is a collection point for Just a Helping Hand, a charity that provides essentials and support to rough sleepers in the area. The work they do to help those who need it most is truly commendable and we are glad we can play our part to help in any way we can. We also have a collection box for Runnymede Foodbank which operates in the building and has recently reopened its doors!

In these challenging times, it is particularly important to hold on to the sense of community and the value of standing along side our customers. Drop in and see us some time!
