Community Life

CHERTSEY LIFE | NOVEMBER 2021

I hope you have taken advantage of the warm Autumn we have had as much as I have. Long walks in the variety of parks available to us, a few cycle rides, spending time by the river, and enjoying good food, family and friends.

A very big congratulations to The Rose & Crown in Thorpe for winning Green King Pub of the Year. Clive Price along with General Manager Sam and Head Chef Ryan are well deserving for this recognition. It is not surprising people come far and wide to experience the delicious menu offered by the pub.

If you haven’t browsed through the magazine before reading this you are in store for a treat. There is so much going on in Runnymede. I have started listing events across the borough from the vegan market in Egham to ones at the Chertsey & Egham Museums along with The Lit. There is so much for you to take advantage of within a 5 mile radius of home.

I very much hope this also brings us more together in the borough. We have such a great community and so much we can learn from each other. It’s been a pleasure attending some of the events and talks that are starting up again. Do take the time to attend. No doubt you will walk away with something new you’ve learned or experienced.

Christmas is definitely getting closer now and it’s important to still be vigilant regarding Covid. Flu season is upon us and it is important to make sure you get your flu shot and Covid booster so we can remain healthy and happy to look forward to 2022. There is so much going on with the announcement for the plans of Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee and fingers crossed life back as we know it.

Yours faithfully,
